The Gorge of Agali

The Gorge of Agali lies within 1 km distance from the village of St. Athanasios. The picturesque gorge streches to the mountain range of Dirfis.

The 2,5 hours hiking route through slopes smothered in greenery and steep rocks will pass unnoticed by the visitors who will be enchanted by the beauty of the scenery. Half way towards the end of the route and having passed the rapid streams rushing down the steep slopes one can reach the cave of Voidopetra which used to be inhabited by man during the Neolithic period. Further the gorge splits into two, both its parts leading to the place Kratia of Loutsa. There one can find beautiful forests of plane trees and old fir trees with lots of streams and mineral water spring. There at the three sheep-folds you will be treaded to traditional dairy products.
