Xiliadou

Our starting point is Kimi. To the west of Kimi, among plane - trees, chestnut trees, fig - trees and cherry - trees the road leads to Vitalo. This area is famous for its figs.

The road continues westwards among marvelous scenery, where one passes through bare rocky mountains as well as thichly - forested slopes. In a green valley, surrounded by thickly wooded mountains, one will come to Metochi. Here one can try delicious agricultural products. There is a wine festival which is help every year at the beginning of summer.

In an enchanting river bed, in lush vegetation and natural melodies from the running waters and birds, there is the convent of Saint Nicholas of Sikeliotis.

From Metochi the dirt road leads us in a north - westerly direction to Chiliathou. A river under the shade of centuries - old plane trees is the natural road to Chiliathou beach. This place is used as a camping site by many visitors every summer. The Convent of Chiliathou, which gave its name to the area, rises above the beach on a hill. To the west behind a steep cliff there is a mudist colony. The clear sea, the green landscape, the many fish which you can catch for yourselves or eat at the tavernas and hotels of the area, promise you an unforgettable holiday. From Chiliathou, we can take the road to Lamari, a small traditional village, nestling among mountain forests. There is a local crafts museum which is worth visiting.

A little further on, we leave the uphill road towards Stropones and turn right in order to visit some of the most beautiful beaches of Evia. We pass through Agia Irene, a farming area, and poli which has many significant ancient ruins. Nearby one can find the «dragon houses» of Glifatha.

Glifatha is an important village in the area built on a thichly - forested mountain slope overlooking the Agean. Four kilometres further north we come to the picturesque Agriosikia and Kerasia. A short distance away we find Petali beach with snow - white sand and plentiful fish.

From Kerasia, we continue north - west and after passing through Niki we reach Limniona, our last stop.
